The Tree of Life teaches us another way of looking at the world

A lot of different things happen every day, don't they?

Things about work, relationships, and the future of life.

When a problem arises, we tend to focus solely on that problem.

I wonder why this happened.

Why do I always end up worrying about the same things?

How can I get out of this situation?

When you think like that, the events happening right in front of you can sometimes become your entire world.

But don't you think that's a little strange?

The same event can feel like a big problem at one time, but not so much at another.

The events themselves haven't changed, so why is it that our feelings about them are so different?

Perhaps what's changing isn't the events themselves, but the way we view the world .

We only see a small part of the world.

For example, imagine yourself standing in a forest.

There is a large tree in front of me, and many more trees lined up beyond it.

When you're in the forest, all you can see is the scenery around you.

But what if you could look at that forest from high in the sky?

You can see not just each individual tree, but the entire forest.

If you broaden your perspective even further, you might realize that the forest is also connected to mountains, rivers, and the sea.

The forest itself hasn't changed.

It's just that the viewing angle has changed.

I think we experience something similar in our own lives.

Things that you didn't notice when you were only looking at the problem right in front of you begin to take on a different meaning when you look at them from a slightly broader perspective.

That doesn't mean the problem will magically disappear.

It simply means being able to see your own experiences within a larger context .

The reason I encountered Kabbalah

I have long been very interested in metaphysics.

What are we living for?

What exactly is consciousness?

And how exactly does this universe work?

In my exploration of such questions, one of the things I arrived at was Kabbalah.

What I found fascinating when I started studying Kabbalah was how it intertwined with various ideas about philosophy, religion, cosmology, and the human psyche.

In particular, the Kabbalistic tradition, which is linked to Hermeticism, includes the idea that the universe and humanity are in correspondence.

What is happening in the universe, and what is happening inside human beings.

These two things, which at first glance seem completely different, are being tried to be understood through common principles and symbols.

Things that I had previously seen separately gradually began to appear connected.

Furthermore, studying Kabbalah not only helped me understand the workings of the universe, but it also brought about a significant change in my own perspective on life.

A ray of light found amidst the whirlwind of human relationships

Actually, I myself went through a very difficult period in my relationships.

It felt as if I had been caught up in some invisible force, and there was nothing I could do about it.

Even though I wanted to do something about it, I had become so confused that I didn't even really understand what was happening.

At that time, encountering the teachings of Kabbalah was like finding a ray of light in a dark vortex.

Why is this happening?

What exactly is creating this vortex?

So, what is needed to get out of this situation?

Until then, I had always been caught up in the events unfolding before me, but Kabbalah gave me the perspective to look at things from a slightly detached viewpoint.

Of course, just because I learned the teachings didn't mean the problem was solved immediately.

However, it might allow you to understand your situation from a different perspective.

That realization became a major turning point for me.

Finding the light and walking by relying on that light

If the teachings of Kabbalah were a ray of light found in the midst of a vortex, then meditation and energy work seem to have been practices for slowly taking steps forward, relying on that light.

Understanding something intellectually and experiencing it firsthand.

These two things seem similar, but they are slightly different.

For example, even if you understand intellectually that "things have many different sides," you may find it difficult to see it that way when you are actually experiencing emotional turmoil.

However, by quietly observing oneself during meditation or by focusing on inner sensations through workshops, new insights can emerge that were previously unseen.

And strangely enough, as you accumulate these experiences, the teachings that you previously only understood as knowledge gradually begin to take on meaning within you.

Conversely, insights gained through meditation or workshops may later connect with the teachings of Kabbalah.

Knowledge guides experience, and experience, in turn, generates new understanding.

I believe this cycle is one of the greatest attractions of studying Kabbalah and metaphysics.

The Tree of Life is a map to understand the universe and oneself.

Kabbalah has a symbolic system called the "Tree of Life."

The Tree of Life is represented by the 10 Sephiroth and the paths that connect them.

In Hermetic Kabbalah, the Tree of Life is used not only as a map to understand the structure of the universe, but also as a map to understand human consciousness and the process of growth.

For example, we have various conflicting forces within us.

The desire to accept something and the desire to draw a boundary.

The desire for freedom and the desire for stability.

There's a part of me that wants to follow my emotions, and another part that wants to make rational decisions.

We tend to think of these opposing ideas as one being right and the other wrong.

However, as you learn about the Tree of Life, you come across the idea that each function has a different role, and that a balance between them is essential.

In that case, the contradictions and conflicts within yourself may not simply be seen as something to be eliminated, but rather as clues to understanding yourself.

This is precisely the aspect that changed the most for me after studying Kabbalah.

I've become able to view the various events that happen in my life from a slightly more detached perspective than before.

And I began to look not only at the events in front of me, but also at the relationships and overall connections that lie behind them.

Knowing yourself is connected to knowing the universe.

Hermeticism is a philosophy that seeks to find a correspondence between the universe and humanity.

The vast universe and the small universe.

This is a way of thinking that views humanity itself as a small universe.

From this perspective, deeply understanding oneself is not merely about self-analysis.

Exploring the various functions within ourselves and their relationships can lead us to contemplate the order of the universe.

I believe this is where the fascination of studying metaphysics lies.

I was supposed to be trying to learn about the universe, but before I knew it, I was thinking about myself.

Conversely, when you try to understand yourself, you start to think about the vast existence of the universe.

I feel like those two things are connected in some way.

And as you continue to learn in this way, your perspective on the world, which you previously took for granted, may gradually begin to change.

Before the world changes, the way we see the world changes.

When we want to change our lives, we often try to change external circumstances, don't we?

Change the environment.

Change your relationships.

Change your work and your life.

Of course, there are times when that is necessary.

However, aside from changing external circumstances, isn't it also very important to understand what perspective you currently have on the world?

Realizing that the world you see is not the whole world.

Realizing that there are still unknown possibilities within yourself.

And, try to think about your own existence within a larger context.

Even just doing that might gradually change how you approach life.

Kabbalah and Hermeticism don't offer immediate answers.

Rather, I think it's a form of learning that prompts us to ask questions we've never even considered before.

What am I?

What kind of order does this world exist in?

And how are we connected to the universe?

Perhaps asking such questions is the beginning of a new way of seeing the world.

From knowledge to experience of the Tree of Life

There's a reason why I emphasize meditation and energy work in addition to lectures in my Kabbalah classes.

That's because I myself have experienced how my view of the world changes through both knowledge and experience.

The Tree of Life is not just for memorizing its structure and symbolism.

Learn the meaning of the Sephiroth, look inward through meditation and workshops, and confirm what you've learned in your daily life.

Through this process, I believe the Tree of Life becomes not merely knowledge, but a living form of learning connected to one's own experiences.

The reason I continue to study and teach Kabbalah is because there are endless discoveries to be made within it.

Exploring the mysteries of the universe and discovering oneself.

Those two things might be closer than you think.

And if you're currently feeling stuck in your life, or if you want to see the world from a different perspective than before...

You might find new clues within the ancient symbol of the Tree of Life.

In class, we explore the world of the Tree of Life through both knowledge and experience.
